The Music House, a cherished landmark in our community, was originally built by Jeff Pezzutti on Progress Road around 1962. Jeff and his family resided there until 1999, during which time his children attended TAS. Jeff played a pivotal role in the early years of TAS, working closely with Ben and Naomi Wilson. His pride in the school’s development was evident, and he continued to support it throughout his life.

As TAS expanded and construction of the TAS pool began, the Pezzutti family moved from Progress Road, and their former home was transformed into the TAS Music House. For many years, it served as an extension of the TAS Music facilities, playing a crucial role in the Music department’s expansion. It was a vibrant hub for music lessons, practices, and workshops until 2020.

Recently, the Music House was relocated from Progress Road to the Pezzutti family farm. The Pezzutti family is grateful for its preservation and excited for this new chapter. They hope the house will continue to bring joy and create new memories for future families. In celebrating the Music House’s past and its new location, we honour not just a building but the enduring legacy of Jeff Pezzutti and his family. Their contributions to the community and education continue to be felt today.

Jeff Pezzutti’s commitment to education was a defining aspect of his life. During his tenure as a Councillor on the Mulgrave Shire Council and later as Deputy Mayor of the Cairns City Council, Jeff was dedicated to supporting local schools. He generously donated funds to institutions such as TAS, St. Mary’s, St. Therese’s, Bentley Park College, and Woree High. He also devoted his time to attending school events, including speech nights, until his health declined in 2022.

His legacy is characterised by his dedication, generosity, and belief in the transformative power of learning.
