Teacher Aide (Part Time) - White Rock Campus

Trinity Anglican School is seeking passionate, organised and supportive Teacher Aides to join our team at the White Rock Primary Campus. 

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and adaptable Teacher Aide to work with our experienced team in a vibrant co-educational environment.

Your role as Teacher Aide is to assist the classroom Teacher and support student learning and wellbeing. Your day will be varied as you switch from working with students supporting learning activities, to assisting with organising activities, to yard duty, and preparation of resources, all under the guidance and direction of the classroom Teacher.

This role will suit someone who is flexible to work across primary school age groups, and an excellent team player who can work under the direction of different classroom teachers.   • CERT III in Education Support, or similar
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011) or Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012) (Desirable)
  • Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (HLTAID009) (Desirable)

Are you a team member who can: 

Work collaboratively under the guidance of the class teacher and:

  • produce displays and resources as required.
  • undertake routine tasks for example:
    • prepare resources for a class,
    • manage and store stock for teachers,
    • photocopy information required for lessons etc.
  • liaise with volunteers who help with classroom activities and ensure tasks are actioned to support teachers
  • assist teachers with pastoral care of students
  • assist teachers with yard duty supervision
  • monitor students’ performance and report information to teachers
  • attend and assist teachers with the organisation of outings and other special activities
  • assist with other office administration duties when required
  • assist with other duties as designated by the Head of Primary School

OSHC & Vacation Care Coordinator/ Nominated Supervisor (Full Time) - White Rock Campus

OSHC Term Time: Mon to Fri (38 hours per week, 22.5 hours contact time 7-8.30am and 3-6pm)

Vacation Care: Rostered hours between 7am and 6pm

About the Role

This is an amazing opportunity to use your experience in childcare and your impressive organisational skills to coordinate a busy, community-minded OSHC centre at White Rock in South Cairns. With support from the Head of Business Services and your ELC and OSHC colleagues, you will have the potential to have a significant influence on the after-school experience of TAS students (Prep to Year 6). You will be developing and coordinating OSHC programs, and with the assistance of enthusiastic and experienced staff you will create a positive environment in accordance with Childcare Industry Standards and Regulations. You will also coordinate the assessment and rating, licensing, rostering, people management and financial management of the service.

About You

Do you have…  

  • A passion for working with children to embrace their development and learning.
  • Sound communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with children, parents and the community.
  • A Diploma in Children’s Services
  • Experience as a Coordinator / Nominated Supervisor in a similar role
  • Knowledge of Kidsoft or other childcare software
  • A current First Aid Certificate (in an Education and Care setting)
  • A current CPR Certificate
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel), email, internet and Kidsoft.
  • A sound understanding of the relevant Acts, Regulations and Compliance requirements in an OSHC environment, and ability to implement actions with regard to compliance.

Reporting to the Manager of ECEC and Head of Business Services, you are a team player who… 

  • Can ensure the safety and well-being of our children at the service.
  • Can work towards meeting or exceeding quality assurance, licensing and assessment rating requirements.
  • Can supervise staff to create a safe and supportive environment for our students.
  • Can liaise with parents and mitigate any concerns or issues.
  • Can plan and implement compliant educational programs.
  • Can embrace the responsibility of Nominated Supervisor of the service.
  • Can apply the fundamentals of confidentiality when dealing with children, parents and staff.

  • Be aware of special/additional needs, cultural, linguistic, religious, gender, language diversities and socio-economic differences and treat each child with dignity and respect.
  • Complete Verification and Verification Review documentation in alignment with ISQ guidelines.
  • Complete and updating Student Snapshots for students with Specific Learning Difficulties and distributing to teachers.
  • Develop or update IEPs each semester.
  • Provide assistance to teachers in effectively implementing Individual Education Programs and strategies for specific students.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to upskilling and attending regular professional development to ensure that TAS Learning Support procedures and protocols are compliant with all current legislation and Independent Schools Queensland requirements.
  • Provide regular reports of actions in the school and an assessment of the outcomes of such actions.
  • Provide a positive contribution to the development of effective networking with school wide staff.
  • Oversee the Practices and Processes for supporting students with disability through the completion of the NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data) on School Students with Disability.
  • Gather available evidence to support the application of NCCD model around determining level of adjustment and category of disability.
  • Collate and confirm NCCD information for students with disability prior to the NCCD submission date,
  • Guide Learning Support Aides and allocate Teacher Aide responsibilities where required.
  • Complete additional Pastoral, Teacher and Other responsibilities as required
