Based out of our beautiful new centre, TAS Kewarra Beach Kindy is an accredited Nature Play Education provider and Bush Kindy. We inspire curious learners through the hands-on play and inquiry-based discovery that promote social, cognitive, physical and emotional development.

Do you have…  

  • A Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or working towards
  • Experience in an early childhood setting – preferably in a school environment
  • A Certificate – First Aid including Asthma & Anaphylaxis
  • A Certificate – CPR Certificate
  • A Blue Card – suitability card for working with children
  • Knowledge of the:
    • Education and Care Services Law Act
    • Education and Care Services Regulations
    • National Quality Framework

Are you a team player who can… 

  • Supervise the children and create age-appropriate activities for their growth and development.
  • In collaboration with the Teacher; implement programs for the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of the children and prepare and maintain materials required for the program.
  • Arrange for the use of the environment, equipment, furniture, toys and consumable materials to foster a rich and inclusive learning environment through play, discovery and projects.
  • Observe and interpret children’s behaviour and appropriately communicate progress or problems to parents.
  • Act as an appropriate role model and care-giver while supervising children at play and at routine times.
  • Supervise all indoor and outdoor play areas to ensure healthy and safe practices.
  • Be aware of additional needs, cultural, linguistic, religious, gender, language diversities and socio-economic differences and treat each child with dignity and respect.
  • Work as part of the team to achieve aims and objectives and develop co-operative relationships that ensure the smooth operation of the Centre.
  • Provide feedback and input in the development of Quality Improvement, policies and procedures and implement accordingly at all times.
  • Liaise with and support parents and actively encourage parent involvement.

Do you have…

  • A Bachelor of Education – Early Childhood Education and Care.
  • Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) or qualifications approved by ACECQA to teach in Kindergarten.
  • Experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care environment preferably at a School.
  • A Certificate – First Aid including Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
  • A Certificate – CPR
  • A Blue/Exemption Card
  • Knowledge of:
    • The Education & Care Services National Law Act
    • The Education & Care Services Regulations.
    • The Q.I.P – Quality Improvement Program
    • The National Quality Framework Assessment and Rating System.
    • The Emergent Curriculum (EYLF – Early Years learning Framework).
    • The Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines
  • An ability to use a variety of software programs including MS Office suite

Are you a team player who can:

  • Develop intentional teaching programs through nature-based play and discovery.
  • Observe and evaluate children’s skills, abilities, behaviour and social, emotional, cognitive and physical development.
  • Prepare children academically, socially and emotionally for transition to school.
  • Manage children’s diverse needs, cultural, linguistic, religious, gender, language, and socio-economic and treat each child with dignity and respect.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exceptional standards of communication with staff, children and their parents.
  • Develop a behavioural framework and monitor and address issues as they arise and encourage pride, sense of responsibility and positive self-esteem amongst children.
  • Create a fun and enjoyable environment for the children and supervise parents, volunteers or student teachers who participate in Kindergarten activities.
