Are you a team player who can:

  • Assist with the maintenance of school grounds through regular mowing, watering and soil maintenance lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary; plant, water and care for trees, shrubs, gardens; and undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, tractors (as per manufacturers’ service manuals) and arrange regular services.
  • Assist with preparing classrooms for examinations and preparing activity/assembly halls, including moving/arranging furniture and seating; removing and relocating furniture from room to room; general store duties including receipting, opening up, checking, storing and distributing school supplies and stocks; and stocktaking and recording/engraving of school equipment/furniture and assets
  • Ensure compliance with work health and safety requirements, including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuels; bring to appropriate attention any safety hazards; manage equipment records; and maintain tools and equipment for repair services (as per manufacturer’s service manual)
  • Communicate and discuss with Manager Maintenance and Facilities matters regarding periodic maintenance of grounds
  • Order and/or collect general grounds care/cleaning supplies and materials as authorised by the Manager Maintenance and Facilities; undertake ground improvement and enhancement activities; and prepare, mark and take general care of all outdoor sporting facilities (e.g. Basketball, cricket pitches, track and field areas).
  • Be willing to work at both campuses

About you… do you have:

  • CERT III qualification in Horticulture
  • Previous experience as a Gardener
  • Sound knowledge and use of horticultural machinery
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Ability to work independently
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills

  • be aware of special/additional needs, cultural, linguistic, religious, gender, language diversities and socio-economic differences and treat each child with dignity and respect
  • assist in the development of policies and procedures
  • liaise with and support parents and actively encourage parent involvement
  • be punctual to classes, playground duties, assemblies, Chapel services, and staff meetings
  • clearly articulate action to be taken in the case of emergencies
  • participate in staff development days, Outdoor Education Programs, Year Level Information Evenings, Student-led Conferences, Principal’s Welcome Evenings, Excursions, Musical Productions and Co-curricular activities.

School Crossing Supervisor

School Crossing Supervisor 
Casual, Kewarra Beach (commencing Term 1, 2022)
The hours required will be Split shift Monday to Friday ($31.11 per hour):

  • Morning 7.45 am – 8.45 am
  • Relief opportunities are available on your rostered days off.
  • Afternoon 3:00 pm – 3.30 pm
