Qualifications, experience and licenses
- Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education or a Degree qualification supported by a Post Graduate Diploma of Education.
- Desirable – Post Graduate training in management, administration or other relevant area.

The role
Are you looking for a great new role that uses your all-round maintenance skills, your troubleshooting abilities, and that provides job security and a good work/life balance? TAS is seeking a full time Maintenance Officer to be based across our White Rock and Kewarra Beach campuses. You’ll be working with a friendly and skilled team to keep the school’s facilities and grounds running smoothly.
You will be required to attend to maintenance requests around the campuses, prioritised by the Maintenance and Facility Manager. This may include moving furniture and equipment, basic repair work (depending on your trade qualification), building works, and garden maintenance (whipper snipper, etc). You will be required to use hand and power tools and have a high level of safety awareness with regard to your work.
Working hours are 6.30am – 3.36pm Mon – Fri, and is based on a flexi-time arrangement which provides approximately 1.5 extra days off every 5 weeks on a rotational roster.

Are you a team player who…
- As directed by the Maintenance & Facility Manager attend to maintenance request within the school, including those which relate to furniture and equipment, locks and windows and school facilities.
- Assist with a range of day to day activities that may include preparing classrooms for examinations and preparing activity/assembly halls, including moving/arranging furniture and seating; removing and relocating furniture from room to room.
- Communicate, report and discuss with Maintenance and Facilities Manager any maintenance matters of concern.
- When requested work with gardens and grounds team to maintain school grounds (eg: mowing, whipper snipping, removal of rubbish etc.)
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; safe storage and handling of chemicals and fuels; bring to appropriate attention any safety hazards; manage equipment records; and maintain tools and equipment for repair services (as per manufacturer’s service manual).
- Always collaborate with school staff and external contractors.
- Other duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the Maintenance and Facilities Manager or Head of Business Services.
