Principals Blog: Community spirit

Dear TAS community,

Every now and then I receive an email that I feel the need to share, because it not only encapsulates our core values of Integrity, Compassion, Perseverance and Curiosity but because it truly epitomizes the spirit of TAS.

Dear Mr Sjogren,

I am writing to let you know of an incident which occurred to me this afternoon.  On the way home from work I got a flat tyre on a vehicle I have only had 3 weeks.  Whilst trying to figure out a spare that required inflating, a family who attends your school pulled up and assisted me.  The father and his two children not only came to assist me, but worked out how to prepare the tyre, then proceeded to change it for me.  The family were kind, courteous, caring and demonstrated the very best of human nature.

Your students were articulate, respectful and demonstrated what I can only categorise as community spirit and citizenship at its finest.

They were still wearing their school uniform which is how I came to write you this message.  You should be very proud of these two students and how they represented your school and the community.

My sincere gratitude,

A lasting impression was left on the email writer because a TAS family acted with compassion and integrity in their moment of need.

Thanks,

Paul
