We are delighted to introduce Annette Woods, the new Chaplain at Trinity Anglican School, who will be commencing her role in September. Annette brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our community. 

Annette was born in New Zealand into a Christian family and moved to Cairns 33 years ago with her children. After they left school, she found her calling in hospital Chaplaincy, where she served for 14 years. She also served as Priest-in-Charge at Yarrabah and is currently the Priest-in-Charge at the Mossman/Port Douglas Ministry Unit. In addition, Annette has a crucial leadership role within the Church as Archdeacon of the Cape, leading the faith communities at Pormpuraaw, Kowanyama, Lockhart River, and Palm Island. With three adult children and six grandchildren, Annette’s life has been rich with family and faith. 

Annette’s main goals as Chaplain are to support students, staff, and parents in any way she can. Creative and resourceful, Annette is always thinking of new ways to engage with the community. Outside of her professional work, Annette enjoys music, having taught piano for many years. She loves singing, engaging in craft activities, reading, and gardening. To maintain her own spiritual and emotional well-being, she listens to podcasts, which supplement her reading and study. 

As we welcome Annette Woods to our community, we must also acknowledge the outstanding contribution of our current Chaplain, Mr. Patrick Williams, who will be leaving us at the end of Term 3. Mr. Williams has been an integral part of our community, providing support, wisdom, and spiritual guidance to our students, staff, and parents throughout his tenure. His dedication and heartfelt engagement have touched many lives within our school, and he will be very much missed. We will have the opportunity to thank him for his service and wish him all the best later in Term 3.
