The Queen’s Baton Relay
What a terrific morning at Kewarra Beach campus on Friday 16 March. The campus looked magnificent as we were chosen to launch the Cairns leg of the Queen’s Baton Relay. The High School Rock Band played all their favourites and had the crowd rocking along with them. Year 8 student Isaac Burton led the relay off after the official QBR Junior Ambassador, Yr 5 student Ruby Colbridge handed it to him. It was great to see so many TAS students and families involved in carrying the baton throughout its Cairns journey. What a great community event to be part of!
KBJ Assembly
Later that day at KBJ, we were treated to some wonderful performances from the terrific young woman visiting TAS from Nagano Seisen school in Japan. We have a long association with Nagano and always enjoy the time they spend with us.
Swimming success
Year 11 student Flynn Martin recently competed in the Queensland School Sport championships in Brisbane representing the Peninsula region. He won four state medals, including a Gold medal and thus becoming a new Queensland School Sport State champion. In addition he broke the existing FNQ record for this event by almost 3 seconds. Outstanding!
