Rosie Batty Visit
Thanks to our Year 11 and 12 students, parents, staff and friends who came along Tuesday morning to hear an address on domestic violence by 2015 Australian of the Year, Rosie Batty. What an incredibly strong and brave woman she is. Her message regarding the importance of respectful behaviour and language was a powerful reminder to all of us in attendance.
Thank you to those who attended from the various local organisations that assist with domestic violence in Cairns. It was great to see some schools from Cairns attend the talk – a shout out to students and staff from Bentley Park College, Cairns School of Distance Education, Freshwater Christian College and staff from Redlynch State College for making a stand against domestic violence.
