FNQ Interschool Chess Championships, Round 1 2018

TAS hosted the first round of the Far North Queensland Interschool Chess Championships on 1 March, with 339 students competing. This is likely to be the biggest interschool tournament in Queensland this term. The TAS teams performed brilliantly, and a highlight of our results are listed below. We were inspired by the good sportsmanship, great ideas and positive mindsets that made the day a special one.

Primary A Grade (12 teams with 48 players)
Team Results
First TAS WRJ Robertson: Andrew Robertson, Angela Xiang, Vinuka Gamage and Aiden Latter
Second TAS WRJ Pandey: James Nguyen, Ryan Goodfellow, Joanna Chen and Pragyan Pandey
Individual Results

Primary B Grade (19 teams with 70 players)
