Working with students checks

TAS provides a safe and supportive learning environment for our students and we achieve this through recruiting excellent staff based on merit and suitability to work with students. To ensure your suitability to work with students, the following checks will be undertaken as a part of the recruitment process:

  • National Register Screen via the Anglican School’s Commission check
  • Blue Card suitability (ability to acquire or seek exemption) check
  • Child Protection Certificate

Do you have:    

  • Qualified Assistant – Certificate or Diploma in Children’s Services
  • Unqualified Assistant (working towards)
    • Certificate or Diploma in Children’s Services
    • James Cook University Student undertaking a qualification approved by ACECQA
  • Unqualified Assistant (James Cook University student)
  • Experience in or ability to learn about Inclusion Support
  • Experience in or ability to learn about an Early Learning Centre
  • Knowledge of the Education and Care Services Law Act and the Education and Care Services Regulations
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current CPR Certificate

Can you work collaboratively with our team of educators to:

  • develop and maintain positive relationships with the children, families and your co-workers
  • assist children who have development needs to successfully integrate
  • support Educators to meet our quality principles of curriculum and documentation
  • assist in set up, facilitation, and clean down activities
  • assist children with meal and sleep times
  • take on feedback and strive for a centre of excellence
  • assist with planning and preparing for daily activities
