TAS Triathletes

Our triathletes continue to lead the way in Cairns.

Townsville Triathlon Festival – Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August

A great weekend of racing by TAS Triathlon at the Townsville Triathlon Festival. A number of individual podium results on Saturday were followed by a silver medal (Emma Simpson & Cody Haseldine were members of this team) and a 6th place for our two teams in the mixed relay state championship event on Sunday. These relay results are outstanding when you consider this was an open age event where our 14-18 year old triathletes competed against a large number of adult age group world championship qualifying adults.

QLD Team Selection

TAS Triathlon’s own superstar Emma Simpson (U20) & club member Felix (U16) were last week selected in the State Triathlon team to represent QLD throughout the Australian Junior Triathlete series – season 2017/18. This is an outstanding achievement for both triathletes.

Muscular Dystrophy ride

Congratulations to Mark Swanston and Mark Pacey who were part of the 100km Ride for Muscular Dystrophy last Sunday.

From the Cairns Esplanade they rode to Gordonvale, then up to Smithfield, then back to the Cairns Esplanade to complete an almost exactly 100km round trip.

They met up with Leesa Hansen from the TAS Aquatic Centre along the way. Altogether, the Marks raised $1003. Well done gents!
