Tree Planting
Thanks to our wonderful Year 4 students and Mrs Sloan for planting heaps of trees around the bottom boundary of the school at White Rock. Our students did a great job, working on improving the environment and learnt a lot about tree-planting from Rob Pozzi, Mick O’Reilly, Bella Pozzi and Kate Bryceson. The new saplings will be monitored and cared for and hopefully will grow big and strong.
Year 3 and 4 Awards Assembly
What a marvellous day of celebration at the Year 3 and 4 Presentation Ceremony. Congratulations to the award winners and to our wonderful musicians – Year 3 to 6 Combined Junior Choir, Junior Ukeleles, and the Junior String ensemble. Special mention to Vinuka Gamage on piano and Angela Xiang on violin for their excellent performances. Angela’s violin piece, Cossack Dance was truly remarkable. Congratulations also to the incoming Junior School leaders who I am sure will do a wonderful job in 2018.
Helicopter
Exciting times on the White Rock oval as Harriet and Joe Doyle arrived by helicopter after winning a competition on radio. They had a great time flying into the school with their dad, John and saw Cairns and TAS White Rock from a unique perspective.
Staff/Student Basketball Game
What an amazing finish! After four quarters of highly skilled, super-athletic play (by some of the students) the game ended after the buzzer at 32 – all. Great play from both teams and terrific support from the students. Thanks to all the staff who were there to support both teams.
