School Chaplaincy

Our Chaplain is the leader of the spiritual life of TAS, working across the entire school from Preparatory to Year 12.

As a member of the Pastoral Care team, the Chaplain also provides support to students, staff and parents as required. While Chapel services, House services and other special services at Easter, Christmas, on ANZAC Day and for Trinity Day are a part of the school’s formal structure, counselling provided by the Chaplain is sought at the discretion of the individual or family concerned.

The Chaplain works closely with the Principal, the Heads of Junior School and Heads of House to support all children. Individual parents and the Parents and Friends Association may call on the Chaplain’s services, should they become aware of families in need or in distress.

The Chaplain’s position at TAS is funded in part through the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program initiative of the Federal Government.

Currently the School is working with the Anglican Diocese of North Queensland to appoint the next Chaplain of TAS. In the meantime, we are grateful for the constant support of our much-loved Bishop, Bill Ray, who is a regular visitor to our campus and runs a number of services for the TAS community, as well as the regular contributions to our spiritual life from clergy from All Saints, Gordonvale (White Rock Senior campus), The Good Shepherd, Edge Hill (White Rock Junior campus), and St Peter’s, Kewarra Beach (Kewarra Beach Junior campus).
